Welcome to the latest edition of our English Partnerships newsletter. 

We are committed to building connections between India and the UK that enable us to share our expertise in English language teacher education and development, teaching, learning and assessment. Over the last six years, the British Council has worked in partnership with 12 state governments to train over 8,070 Master Trainers and teacher educators who have provided training for nearly 836,190 teachers.

Each month we will share information about:

English skills for employability - setting common standards

British Council India, in partnership with Manipal City & Guilds, Trinity College London and the National Skills Development Agency India recently launched a research report on the role of English in the National Skills Qualification Framework.

 
       
 

Language and Development Conference - online registrations open 27 July

The 11th International Language and Development Conference (LangDev2015) will be held in New Delhi, India from 18-20 November 2015 on the theme 'Multilingualism and Development'.

 
       
 

Survey of ELT research in India

Access a free, comprehensive online repository of research carried out in India into English language teaching, learning and assessment. This has been developed in partnership with English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad and Warwick University.

 
       
 

TeachingEnglish Radio India

TeachingEnglish Radio India is a series of 12 fifteen-minute audio programmes providing advice and training on learner-centred teaching of English at a basic level.
